Link serves more than 600 students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Our building goal is to build literacy in all students, while providing them with a well-rounded curriculum in all academic disciplines. In the 2007-08 school year Link School was honored by the U.S. Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School for academic excellence. In 2011, Link was honored by the Illinois State Board of Eduation as a 2010 Academic Excellence Award school.

English-Spanish dual-language is offered in grades kindergarten through second. The goal of this program is for students to become bilingual, biliterate and bicultural by the time they exit the school at the end of sixth grade

Band and orchestra instruction is offered once a week during school for interested fifth- and sixth-grade students. Interested intermediate students can also participate after school in the Link School Chorus and Recorder Club. The Student Council consists of two student representatives from each first- through sixth-grade classroom. This group sponsors the School Store and oversees several service projects each year.

Production Studio connects all of Link School each morning with messages, character thoughts and announcements about the school. A crew of students produces the show daily. Pledge people from each classroom are chosen to recite the Pledge of Allegiance as part of our morning broadcast. PBIS Positive Paw winners are also recognized at this time.

The Elk Grove Police Department conducts DARE, a drug education and resistance program for sixth-grade students. Our safety patrols (sixth-grade students) keep our school safe each morning and at dismissal time as well.

Link School has a very active PTA that sponsors a weekly hot lunch program, book fairs, treat days, cultural events, and so much more.

A full continuum of special services is available to students in District 54. All children have access to early childhood programs, which are clustered geographically. Link school has gifted resource services, although eligible children can also attend the magnet program at Campanelli School.

The school was named after Adolph Link, a local artist.
